The Adult Medical Day Care Center is an interface between the waterfront and an infrastructural suburban edge, repurposing an empty building shell into a light filled space. The addition allows the existing building components to interlock cohesively to create multiple layers of interior spaces. This landscape becomes an open garden providing softness to the hard urban space. The landscape within the building also creates a courtyard for public events to bring natural light and nature into the space. The waterfront elevation has panelized planes that diffuse light and direct focused views to the water. The roadside elevation is designed to be a buffer and a retaining wall shielding the center from the road and its cars.
